CookGo Terms of Use
The terms for using the CookGo app and CookGo Premium.
Draft — not yet in effect
This document is under review and may change before CookGo officially launches.
- Effective date: [TODO: effective date — set when these Terms are published]
- Last updated: 4 October 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and [TODO: operator legal name], address [TODO: registered address], business registration number [TODO: business registration number] ("CookGo", "we") about your use of the CookGo app on Android and iOS, the recipe share pages at https://share.cookgo.space and the website https://cookgo.space (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
CookGo is intended for a general audience and is not designed specifically for children. If you are under 16, you need the consent of a parent or guardian to use the Service. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian to make in-app purchases.
1. The Service
CookGo is an app with guides for cooking, making drinks, baking and related kitchen content, in Vietnamese and English (the English edition is a curated selection of classic Vietnamese dishes, smaller than the Vietnamese one). Its main features are: browsing and searching recipes, finding dishes from ingredients you have, family meal suggestions, adjusting servings, step-by-step cooking mode with timers, favorites, notes, a shopping list, offline viewing, meal-suggestion notifications, searching for places near you and recipe sharing.
- The app is free to download and use. No account is required.
- The free version contains ads. CookGo Premium (section 7) is a paid option that only removes ads.
- We may add, change, suspend or discontinue parts of the Service (including turning features on or off remotely or requiring an update to a newer version to keep using it), provided we do not take away purchased benefits contrary to section 7 or the law.
2. License to use
CookGo grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes, on devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the App Store/Google Play.
You may cook and share dishes made from the recipes, share recipe links using the share feature and send your shopping list to others. You may not copy, distribute, sell or republish CookGo content in bulk (text, images, translations, collections) without our written permission.
3. Recipe content is for information only
Recipes and instructions on CookGo are carefully written and reviewed but are for information only and do not replace advice from medical, nutrition or food-safety professionals. Results depend on your actual ingredients, equipment, conditions and technique.
- Allergies and diets: check ingredients and product labels yourself. Recipes may contain, or be cross-contaminated with, common allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, seafood, gluten, soy…). Tags such as "vegetarian" or "no oven" are search aids, not certifications.
- Raw ingredients and food safety: wash hands and utensils, keep raw and cooked food separate, cook meat, poultry, eggs and seafood thoroughly, and refrigerate properly. Pregnant women, young children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems should take particular care with raw, undercooked or fermented foods.
- Pickles and ferments: follow the instructions on sanitizing equipment, salt/sugar ratios, temperature, waiting time and storage exactly; discard the food if it shows signs of spoilage such as mold, an unusual smell, unusual sliminess or a bulging lid. When in doubt, do not eat it.
- Safety notes: always read and follow each recipe's safety, storage and equipment notes. Be careful with knives, hot oil, boiling water, ovens and electrical appliances; stay with your cooking — do not rely only on the app's timers.
- Servings and units: serving adjustment and unit conversion (for example to oz, cups, °F) are assisting calculations and involve rounding. Cooking time, pan size and fermentation conditions do not automatically change by the same ratio; adjust to your situation.
- Translations: English versions may be drafted with machine translation tools and reviewed by editors; if you spot an error, please use the "Report a problem" button.
If you find a recipe that is wrong or unsafe, please tell us via the "Report a problem" button in the app or at support@cookgo.space.
4. Alcohol content (18+) and responsible drinking
At launch, CookGo does not offer alcohol content. This section only applies if and when CookGo offers it.
- The "Cocktails & mixed drinks" category and recipes containing alcohol are only for people of legal drinking age: 18, or 21 if your device region is the United States. The app asks for your birth year before opening them; the birth year is stored only on your device. If the law where you live sets a higher legal drinking age, you must follow that age. Do not serve alcoholic drinks to anyone under the legal drinking age.
- The birth year is self-declared; anyone who enters a false birth year (or a parent/guardian who lets a minor access the content) is responsible for doing so.
- Drink responsibly and in moderation. Never drink and drive. Not for anyone under 18. Vietnamese law prohibits driving a vehicle with any alcohol concentration in the blood or breath. Do not drink alcohol when pregnant, when taking medication that interacts with alcohol, or when medically advised not to.
- CookGo does not sell alcoholic drinks, has no links to buy them, does not suggest places for them, and does not send notifications about or advertise alcohol content. Drink-mixing content is technical guidance and does not encourage drinking.
5. Your feedback
You can send recipe feedback (like/dislike, problem reports with a message) and other suggestions to CookGo.
- You agree that what you send is lawful, not offensive, contains no personal information about you or others, and contains no malware or advertising.
- You grant CookGo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, copy, adapt and incorporate your feedback into improving recipes, translations and the Service, without payment or attribution. We do not publish your messages together with your identity.
- We may decline to act on, or delete, inappropriate feedback.
6. Advertising
The free version shows ads provided by Google AdMob (section 4 of the Privacy Policy). There are no ads in cooking mode. We block alcohol and gambling ad categories. Advertisers are responsible for the products and services in their ads; CookGo does not endorse them.
Some features can be unlocked by voluntarily watching a rewarded ad (for example downloading a whole category or collection of recipes for offline use, or watching one ad to turn ads off for 2 hours) [TODO: legal review — rewarded 2-hour ads-off example]. Premium users get these features directly.
7. CookGo Premium
7.1. What Premium includes
CookGo Premium only removes ads:
- it turns off all ads in the app (native card ads, banners, full-screen ads and app-open ads);
- it directly unlocks the features that free users can only use after watching a rewarded ad.
All other features are the same as in the free version. Premium does not include paid recipe packs or courses that may be released in the future. Premium does not hide affiliate links (section 8), which are always labeled "Affiliate link", or sponsored content clearly labeled "Sponsored" if it is ever introduced.
7.2. Plans and prices
| Plan | Product ID | Price in Vietnam | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium 1 year | premium_yearly |
30.000đ/year | Auto-renewing yearly plan |
| Premium lifetime | premium_lifetime |
50.000đ | One-time purchase, no renewals (see section 7.4) |
The Vietnam prices above are launch prices and may change; the yearly plan renews at the then-current price (section 7.3). Prices include taxes as displayed by the App Store/Google Play. Users outside Vietnam see prices in the currency converted by the store. The price shown in the store when you confirm the purchase is the price that applies.
7.3. Payment, renewal and cancellation of the yearly plan
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. CookGo does not process payments and does not receive your card details.
- The yearly plan renews automatically every year at the then-current price unless you turn off auto-renewal before the renewal time under the store's rules (for the App Store: at least 24 hours before the end of the current period). Your account will be charged for the new period within the time window set by the store before the current period ends.
- To cancel renewal: iPhone/iPad — Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions; Android — Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the yearly plan.
- If you cancel, you keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for; after that, ads come back.
- If the price of the yearly plan changes, the store will notify you and ask for your confirmation where the store's rules require it.
- If you already have the yearly plan and then buy the lifetime plan, please cancel the yearly plan's renewal yourself to avoid being charged for the next period.
7.4. Lifetime plan
The lifetime plan is a one-time purchase with no renewals and remains valid for as long as CookGo continues to provide the app. It is tied to the store account used to buy it (Apple ID or Google account) and works only on the same platform: a purchase made on iOS cannot be transferred to Android and vice versa.
7.5. Restore purchases
Because CookGo has no accounts, Premium status is verified with the store. When you change devices or reinstall the app, sign in with the same store account and tap "Restore purchases" in the app. The app may need a network connection to re-verify your Premium status from time to time.
7.6. Refunds
Refund requests are handled under the policies of Apple (https://reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play. Because CookGo does not receive payments directly, we cannot issue refunds ourselves, but we will help you via support@cookgo.space. This does not limit your consumer rights under the law.
8. Affiliate links and sponsored content
For users in Vietnam, some recipes and the shopping list contain links to equipment or ingredients on Shopee or TikTok Shop, always labeled "Affiliate link". Users outside Vietnam do not see these links. If you buy through these links, CookGo may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The purchase is between you and the seller/platform; CookGo is not the seller and is not responsible for the price, quality, delivery or warranty of the products. The "Order via ShopeeFood" button on a place's detail page in "Good places near you" is also an affiliate link. There are no affiliate links for alcoholic drinks or alcoholic ingredients. CookGo has no sponsored content at present; if it is introduced in the future, it will always be labeled "Sponsored".
9. Third-party services and place information
The Service uses third-party services such as Google (Firebase, AdMob), Apple, Cloudflare and sharing platforms. Your use of those services is also subject to their providers' terms.
The "Good places near you" feature lets you search by keyword (for example "phở" or "bún chả") in a list of places that the CookGo team researches and enters itself; if you choose to use your location, results are filtered and sorted by distance from your rounded location. Results are shown as a list, and tapping a place opens a detail page inside the app (photos, address, distance, price level, opening hours, website and description; the app does not show places' phone numbers). There is no map, and CookGo uses no third-party place-search or map service for this feature. The list is CookGo's editorial selection, not advertising; CookGo does not sell on behalf of these places and is not responsible for their food, prices or service. Place information (opening hours, prices…) may change; please check directly before you go. Owners who want the details of their place corrected or removed can contact support@cookgo.space. Ordering via ShopeeFood (where offered) is a transaction between you and ShopeeFood/the restaurant.
10. Intellectual property
The CookGo name and logo, interface, source code, databases, recipe text, translations, images and collections belong to CookGo or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you. If you believe content on CookGo infringes your rights, please send the details to support@cookgo.space.
11. Prohibited use
You must not:
- automatically collect, scrape or bulk-copy recipes, images or place data from the app, the share pages or the API;
- access or use the CookGo API (
api.cookgo.space) other than as the official app does; bypass or evade rate limits, quotas or security measures; forge install IDs; - send feedback, problem reports or searches in bulk, falsely or to distort data;
- click or view ads fraudulently, or interfere with ads, purchases or Premium verification;
- reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law allows it;
- use the Service for unlawful purposes or to harm CookGo, other users or third parties.
We may block or restrict access (for example by install ID or IP address) when we detect such behavior.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every recipe suits your needs, health or taste. Notifications, place search results and third-party content may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate.
- To the extent permitted by law, CookGo is not liable for damage arising from your failure to follow safety instructions, safety notes or these Terms, from third-party ingredients, equipment or services, or from force majeure events.
- To the extent permitted by law, CookGo's total liability to you in connection with the Service does not exceed the amount you paid for CookGo Premium in the 12 months before the claim arose.
- Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by CookGo's fault, liability for intentional misconduct, and your rights as a consumer under Vietnam's Law on Protection of Consumer Rights No. 19/2023/QH15 and other mandatory laws.
13. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app (note: this does not cancel the yearly plan — see section 7.3). We may suspend or terminate your right to use the Service if you breach these Terms. Sections 3, 5, 10, 12 and 15 survive termination.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms. The new version will be published at https://cookgo.space/en/legal/terms with its update date; for significant changes, we will notify you in the app [TODO: number of days' notice, suggested 15] days before they apply. If you keep using the Service after the new version takes effect, you accept it. Changes to the yearly plan's price follow the store's process (section 7.3).
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. Disputes should first be resolved by negotiation via support@cookgo.space; you may also use the consumer dispute resolution methods available under the law. If a dispute cannot be resolved, it will be brought before a competent court of Vietnam. If you are a consumer resident in another country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country still apply to the extent the law requires.
16. Additional terms for iOS users
If you downloaded CookGo from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and CookGo, not Apple. CookGo (not Apple) is responsible for the app and its content, maintenance, support, handling of claims relating to the app and intellectual property claims. Apple has no obligation to maintain or support the app. To the extent permitted by law, if the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. You represent that you are not on any list of prohibited or restricted parties under applicable law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
17. General
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. These Terms together with the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and CookGo regarding the Service.
18. Contact
support@cookgo.space — [TODO: operator legal name], [TODO: registered address].
These Terms are available in Vietnamese and English. The English version is a translation of the Vietnamese version; for users in Vietnam, the Vietnamese version prevails in case of any inconsistency.
